Rooms:
Regardless of the children’s age each child will be assigned a personal key worker, who will work closely with you and your child to ensure all their needs are being met, whilst gathering observations and samples of photo’s and evidence of their pictures/work to create their own personal learning journal. We also hold a parents evenings every six months where you can come in and find out what your child has been doing, however you are also more than welcome to see the child’s key worker whenever you wish.
Seahorses room - 0-15 month old
The seahorses room caters for 6 children aged from 6 weeks up and including 15 months, they work on the staff ratio of one staff member to every three children
Dolphin room – 1-2 yr olds
The dolphin room caters for 12 children aged 1 – 2 years working on a staff ratio of one staff member to every three children, however the children aged 0-1 yrs have their own play space. Although we follow a basic routine we also follow your routines from home as much as possible, to ensure the children are happy and something is familiar to them regardless of their surroundings. The baby room is filled with toys and activities that will allow them to explore all of their senses in a safe but fun way, including a lot of natural objects for them to explore.
They have their own nappy changing facilities and a nice quiet area for them to sleep.
Penguin room – 2-3 yr olds
The penguin room caters for 15 children aged 2-3yrs working on a staff ratio of one staff member to every four children, based in a new extension built September 2005. The penguins have a daily routine, which includes free play, structured play, outside time, quiet time. In this room the children are given more independence in which to express themselves, whilst also helping to care for our goldfish “Orange”. Once again they have their own nappy changing facilities, and lots of potties for when the children are ready for toilet training, or small toilets are also available.
Polar Bear room – 3-5 yr olds
The polar bear room caters for 26 children working on a staff ratio of one staff member to every eight children. They have a similar routine to the penguins but a lot more in depth. The room has also been set out providing a number of different play area’s for the children to explore and experiment, whilst also preparing them for school.
Out of school care:
The out of school room caters for 14 children aged between 3 – 14 yrs working on a staff ratio of one staff to every eight children. This room provides a fun/relaxing environment for children to enjoy after a hard day at school. We have computers, football tables and lots more to help them chill out. Staff are at hand to help the children with their homework if required.
