3-5 year olds:

As children in this group are starting to prepare for school, the room allows children to have a lot more learning opportunities.

Children are given a specific time during the day where they are asked to choose the three areas’ where they want to play. They then have to come back and recall to a member of staff what they have been doing. This allows the children to have more choice, responsibility, independence, imagination and concentration skills. In order for the children to achieve and progress in the above six areas they will have access to the following areas as much as possible:

• Home Corner
• IT Area
• Maths
• Creative
• Writing Area
• Discovery area
• Story Corner
• Home Corner

Planning is always displayed in your child’s room, along with your child’s own development folders. Parents/carers are welcome to suggest idea’s or feelings on these any time.
