0-3 year olds:

Any child aged between 0-5 years will learn and develop through their daily routine and activities, planned for them using the planning system EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE (EYFS). This is a new planning system which allows the staff to plan more on the child’s interests on a short-term basis rather than planning for them on a long-term basis. EYFS is also split into four age groups which means activities planned are more specific to that age and development. The four sections are as follows:


No matter what age group your child falls into they will learn the following skills:
Personal social and emotional development, communicationLanguage, Literacy and , physical, Promlem solving, reasoning and Numeracy, creative, knowledge and understanding of the world.

Our approach to observing, planning and assessing the children has changed.  The staff are able to support the children's development with the use of play based experiences and observations.  Planning is based on what the children can do and continue to achieve.  This has allowed us to build upon their learning

Furthermore the highscope philosophy is implemented throughout the setting to promote active learning and free choices for all children

Planning is always displayed in your child’s room, along with your child’s own development folders. Parents/carers are welcome to suggest idea’s or feelings on these any time.
